We have a pen rearing project in partnership with the SF Tyee Club in which we raised 76,000 juvenile salmon, 25,000 of which were raised from eggs by the students of Casa Grande High School. On October 5, 2008 we released those salmon into the wild with the hope that they will survive and return in 2-3 years to spawn in local watersheds.
We are involved in a program called “Trout in the Classroom,” where children are raising trout from eggs and releasing them into proper habitat. The "Trout in the Classroom" project is in association with Trout Unlimited and The California Department of Fish and Game.
Every year we hand thousands of Chinook salmon to the children at Blackie’s Pasture in Tiburon who then release them into the San Francisco Bay. We are constantly increasing our capabilities with new equipment, staff and know-how so we can rear more salmon and provide more educational exhibits and programs to kids.
We are located at the Romberg Tiburon Center on Paradise Drive.
We are looking for volunteers and funding to make these events happen.
